I often to link to Wikipedia™ in my posts. It is not because I believe in the complete accuracy of Wikipedia, but because I find it a useful place to start. I do not want to assume that my readers have the same background knowledge as me, so adding a hyperlink to such a useful general reference is a simple way of providing easily accessible basic knowledge to my readers.
To acknowledge the limitations of Wikipedia is not to deny its utility, nor its worthiness as a project. So I will continue to link to it, as an aid to my readers.
